The Mission La Purisima near the town of Lompoc is the eleventh of the 21 missions to be established in California. The Mission was dedicated on the feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, 1787 by the Padre Presidente Fermin Francisco de Lasuen, Junipero Serra's successor to the presidency of the California missions.

Heritage Architecture & Planning performed an architectural conservation assessment for the California Department of Parks and Recreation. Seismic retrofit and restoration drawings were then completed for the Mission Church.
