San Diego Santa Fe Depot & Baggage Building (MCA)
San Diego, CA

Heritage Architecture & Planning has provided various historic architectural services for the 1914 San Diego Santa Fe Depot. As part of the Santa Fe Courtyard project, Heritage designed waiting shelters, planters, guardrails, texture paving, and signage.

Rehabilitation of the San Diego Santa Fe Depot Baggage Building involved window and door repair, cleaning and re-setting brick pavers, replication of missing doors and hardware, replication light fixtures of, copper gutters and downspouts, roof cleaning and repair, and new paint in the historical colors. Work was also performed to remove hazardous materials and seismically retrofit the building. The San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art will use the large day-lighted Baggage Building to display artwork.

Current work includes upgrades to the restrooms, lighting, and disabled access as well as repairs to the roof and towers of the main building.
