Balboa Theatre in downtown San Diego was constructed in 1926 as a 1,500 seat vaudeville/movie theater. The building, along with the interior spaces, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A feasibility study, structural analysis, adaptive reuse plan, and cost estimates were developed for the theater. The firm of Heritage Architecture & Planning worked with structural engineers to design a historically sensitive seismic upgrade for the structure for reuse as a live performance theatre.
