Principal Architect

Mr. Sawasaki has been a member of the firm since 1979 and has participated in architectural phases ranging from conceptual design through construction administration.  He has an acute awareness of the unique challenges associated with the process of rehabilitation and restoration of historic buildings as well as with projects incorporating existing and new construction.  His direct involvement includes many award-winning projects such as Rancho Los Cerritos, Leo Carrillo Ranch, El Presidio de Santa Barbara, and the Santa Barbara Railroad Station.  More recent projects are Poway Midland Train Depot, Mission San Diego de Alcalá, Mission San Luis Rey, and the Academy of Our Lady of Peace.  His long-term working relationships with the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation, as well as with the cities of Long Beach and Carlsbad are a testament to his extensive expertise in the field of preservation architecture.
